lesson of the day.

In this topic, I shall try my best to bring one Hadith of the Rasulullah Salwatullah Alaihim AJma’een or a Aya of Holy Qur’an.

Here is the first Hadith that I would love to see our Muslims act upon.

On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) who narrated that the Messenger of Allah (may the peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) had said:

During the night journey (Mi`raj), I saw a group of people who were scratching their chests and faces with their copper nails. I asked, who are these people, Gabriel replied that these are the people who eat the flesh of each other (by backbiting) and slander them.

(Reported by Abu Dawud)

Lessons Deduced:
This hadith gives a grave warning against backbiting. The backbiter is like the one who eats the flesh of people.

Re: lesson of the day.

:flower1: Nice idea.

i know so many people who love to gossip about others. i had resolved years ago i wasn’t going to participate in their conversations, so i tried to change the topic when they started it. i SURE AS HECK am not perfect, but i’m trying to remember this every day whenever i interact with anyone. :frowning: It’s such an important lesson.

Gossiping is something wich has become so trivial, many people do not even realize how serious a sin it is, if some one wants to change oneself for the better a good place to start is to highlight such things, which people consider to be minor misdeeds, and refrain from back bitting.

Great…JazakAllah for sharing…:k:

May Allah :swt: keep us from torment of intentional and unintentional gossipping…Ameen…

Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):_

“neither backbite one another. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it (so hate backbiting). And fear Allaah. Verily, Allaah is the One Who forgives and accepts repentance, Most Merciful”

[al-Hujuraat 49:12]_

YUSUFALI: Allah loveth not that evil should be noised abroad in public speech, except where injustice hath been done; for Allah is He who heareth and knoweth all things.
PICKTHAL: Allah loveth not the utterance of harsh speech save by one who hath been wronged. Allah is ever Hearer, Knower.
SHAKIR: Allah does not love the public utterance of hurtful speech unless (it be) by one to whom injustice has been done; and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.

If the intention is to put people off a person’s evil action that is forbidden according to sharee’ah, to make a person to stop doing that, to combat someone’s bid’ah and warn people against it, or to expose something false that a person has said in front of others in discussion groups or newsgroups on the internet or elsewhere, then this is permissible and is not the gheebah which is forbidden.

Abu Hurayrah said: A man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) complaining about his neighbour. He said, “Go and bear it with patience.” He came back two or three times, then he [the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)] said: “Go and put your belongings out on the street.” So he put his belongings out on the street and the people started asking him about that, and he told them the reason. So the people started cursing [that neighbour] and praying against him. Then his neighbour came to him and said, “Go back, and you will never see me doing anything you dislike.”Narrated by Abu Dawood, 5153.

jazakallah....Allah hum sub ko gheebat say bachai..Ameen
