Lengha-UK-HELP :(

Hey guys, I live in the north east and I’m getting married next summer. I have nooo idea where to shop for my lengha. Going back home is not an option, although I would love to as I have specific image in my head of what I want it to look like. I can’t justify spending more than 1000£ on it, this is ultimate max but preferably want to spend less. Where can I go that isn’t London? Also is there anywhere that will custom make a lengha, eg material, type of kaam etc? Confused.com

This is the kind of work I’m looking for.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

I cant see your link. If your near london you could try the standard green street/southall for wedding outfits. I'm also certain that if you have a specific idea in mind you can get it made from here. Price i'm not too sure but you can definately find a lengha under £1000!

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

You can try looking in Manchester, Bradford or Birmingham. All cities not too far from you i imagine if you are from the north east.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

You can try Gul's Style in Illford, East London. I couldn't see your link either, but his styles are very Pakistani. But extremely expensive! I went to his shop and the clothes were all in bags, you couldnt touch them or open the clothes bag. How were u supposed to look at the clothes!? Weird.

I'm not sure about finding a lengha for unfer £1,000 - maybe if you search really hard and haggle loads.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

Gul's Style does have amazing clothes. I purchased a suit from there last year for my besties wedding, after searching high and low all across London. I actually found them really friendly and Gul himself was nice too.

She definitely won't find a wedding lengha under 1k there, the formal suits are around £800.

Try visiting the Asiana Bridal Show, it is a good way to see what all the UK designers offer under one roof. The next one is in Jan 2012.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

I'm a fan of Je Roch and Burooj in Manchester...that's where i'll be heading, as im in the North! I have had a consultation with Burooj, they do custom made pakistani style lengas etc....but i am not sure if they will work with that sort of budget.

I'll defiantly be checking Manchester out. As it's much easier to travel to. I have an image in my head of what I want, wish I could go Pak and get it made exactly like that :(

I've heard negative reviews of gul styles although his clothes look amazing...also I can't justify spending the amount that he demands.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

^omg i cannot believe some of the prices you are quoting here!!! why not try one of the GS home based ladies? i am sure they can make it within the range you are looking for, check out the reviews, on classified, also most have thier own facebook pages with pics of thier work.

My favourite is Malaika Adnan (she is on facebook) i have ordered from her, if you want any feedback on the others or Malaika PM me.

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

Daminis has a really large section for bridal.. haven't been there in a while but last time their sale was on there was a lot of stuff under £1000.. I was shocked to see bridal lenghas for £600.. esp considering the prices for their other stuff downstairs..

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

Im not sure on prices about designer but there's FAB wedding lengha's in green street all UNDER £1000. And if you haggle you'l get it much more cheaper..also if you find the a grooms outfit from the same shop too you get an even more amazinng discount..i was in green street about 2 months ago and this lady quoted me a stupid ridiculous price for a lengha..then when we were like what if we like a grooms outfit then the price was considerably less considering how much just the lengha was on its own!..HAGGLING IS THE KEY!!

Aaliyah1 check out Summaya Darr - she is based in East London.

I like her designs, and they are very Pakistani. I asked her if she makes outfits from scratch and she said yes, so maybe she can design and make your dream dress within your budget? Her prices are not ridiculously high either.

This is her website *www.summayadarr.co.uk x *

Re: Lengha-UK-HELP :(

I came across this company called Rent A Lengha, they stock pakistan designers and it's cheap as you don't have to buy the outfits you can just hire. My sister hired an Sonia azhar Lengha, it was amazing. We went to a town near Birmingham and the girl had Maria b, deepak perwani and others. There's a facebook page, just type it in.
