lehenga uthana

well i always notice that brides couisns and friends lift her lehenga a bit that she walk properly when she enters in hall for the fuction

but is it nessasary to lift lehenga :bummer:
its look bit odd too me and i believe if u walk without lifting it it will look mor gracefull

well when models can walk without lifting the lehnega ,gharara then why cant real brides…

yes the are professionals they have practice to walk but that is catwalk much more difficult then normal walk…

Re: lehenga uthana

i say let the bride walk gracefully without anyone lifting it up. i saw this one video in which the bride's sisters were on both her sides and helped her with walking. it looked so bad and she looked like a penguin while walking lol. the only time a bride may need help with anyone lifting up her gharara is when getting on to the stage...as in climbing up the small stairs. and that im okay with.

Re: lehenga uthana

plus i don't get why the bride can't just lift her own lehenga?

Re: lehenga uthana

I’ve even seen a wedding where the groom was helping the bride lift her lehnga from behind. He was being courteous…but it didn’t look right :smack:

i hate it so much when someone else is lifting the bride's lehenga...

i went to one of my cousin's wedding and the groom was helping her to lift her lehenga when she was walking..it looked so funny..he was too tall so he has to bend to lift it....

Re: lehenga uthana

haha..and yea i once asked my aunt why does someone has to help to lift the lehenga...and she said...kahi ganda na ho jaye is liye (she was just kidding)...

Re: lehenga uthana

I hate it aswell when the sisters/cousins are lifting the bride's lengha..i think it looks awkward! It would look much better if she just lifted it herself!

Re: lehenga uthana

i lifted my lehnga myself where ever its needed. i told them all please dont try to lift my lehnga i'll handle myself :).

Re: lehenga uthana

My bro n sis did lift my lehnga... but it didn't look bad at all... infact it looked quite nice the way it came in the video i totally love it...

Re: lehenga uthana

I helped my sis with hers, but only because she had stairs to negotiate! She didn't need any help after that

Re: lehenga uthana

It looks stupid. Acceptable if going up/down stairs but that's about it!

It does look a bit daft, especially when someone lifts it a little too high and the bride's legs are on show.

Re: lehenga uthana

Plus, if you're not in sync w/ the person carrying your lehnga, you can fall too.

Re: lehenga uthana

to be honest all the girls in pakistan cling on to you when you are the bride..at my nikkah i wanted to push everyone...i wanted only my 2 little sisters to bring me out but then they all came and were hovering around...(coz they want to get into the pictures) i hate it...all the random little kids and ajeeb ajeeb anties..like WHY are you here LOL...this time im going to tell everyone plz take ur seats lols i only want my brother to bring me out...

oh and i have this very stupid cozin...she kept on coming on the stage and fixing my dupata even though it didnt need any fixing..i wanted to freak out on her and say what in the world are you doing

heheh yeah i went to a wedding last week where the groom did da same.. but i dnt really get it..y wud u need sumone to lift ur lehenga…apart from the stairs i wudnt want any help.. and stairs pe i DO need help coz m very clumsy…i fall down while walking on a flat surface..imagine how embarrassing it wud b if i fell down on my wedding day :bummer:

Re: lehenga uthana

LOL^^

and oh god! Yes, people who randomly come and keep fixing your dupatta or other things that don't need fixing? Very annoying. I remember watching my parent's wedding movie (they got married in 1990) and my dadi/phupho kept fixing my mom's dupatta which absolutely did not need fixing. I could tell my mom was getting annoyed because it was pinned to her hair and even the pouf-insanely-teased-hair couldn't withstand the pulling. =/

LOL

lol

Re: lehenga uthana

lol, you know the very popular hairstyle from the 80s—early 90s? The teased overall-crown/geisha/updo hairstyle?

Think this but slightly tamer. >.<
