i say let the bride walk gracefully without anyone lifting it up. i saw this one video in which the bride's sisters were on both her sides and helped her with walking. it looked so bad and she looked like a penguin while walking lol. the only time a bride may need help with anyone lifting up her gharara is when getting on to the stage...as in climbing up the small stairs. and that im okay with.
i hate it so much when someone else is lifting the bride's lehenga...
i went to one of my cousin's wedding and the groom was helping her to lift her lehenga when she was walking..it looked so funny..he was too tall so he has to bend to lift it....
haha..and yea i once asked my aunt why does someone has to help to lift the lehenga...and she said...kahi ganda na ho jaye is liye (she was just kidding)...
I hate it aswell when the sisters/cousins are lifting the bride's lengha..i think it looks awkward! It would look much better if she just lifted it herself!
to be honest all the girls in pakistan cling on to you when you are the bride..at my nikkah i wanted to push everyone...i wanted only my 2 little sisters to bring me out but then they all came and were hovering around...(coz they want to get into the pictures) i hate it...all the random little kids and ajeeb ajeeb anties..like WHY are you here LOL...this time im going to tell everyone plz take ur seats lols i only want my brother to bring me out...
oh and i have this very stupid cozin...she kept on coming on the stage and fixing my dupata even though it didnt need any fixing..i wanted to freak out on her and say what in the world are you doing
heheh yeah i went to a wedding last week where the groom did da same.. but i dnt really get it..y wud u need sumone to lift ur lehenga…apart from the stairs i wudnt want any help.. and stairs pe i DO need help coz m very clumsy…i fall down while walking on a flat surface..imagine how embarrassing it wud b if i fell down on my wedding day
and oh god! Yes, people who randomly come and keep fixing your dupatta or other things that don't need fixing? Very annoying. I remember watching my parent's wedding movie (they got married in 1990) and my dadi/phupho kept fixing my mom's dupatta which absolutely did not need fixing. I could tell my mom was getting annoyed because it was pinned to her hair and even the pouf-insanely-teased-hair couldn't withstand the pulling. =/
