Legos

Ok I have fallen in love (again) with those cute Danish building blocks. Before eid I was searching for a Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle Lego set for my nephew, had a fantastically difficult time finding it but he loved it. So last weekend I was over his house helping the little guy build that castle…it was fun! I mean I didn’t think it would be that great.

So I went to my basement and took out my old sets. Set them up. Then I went online to check out some new sets..had some trouble finding them. The Lego website has only 2 castles available, and since I absolutely love their medieval series, I was really disappointed.

Does anyone know of a better place to buy legos? And am I sane to be 27 and playing legos? :hehe: don’t be too rough on me, I’ll post some pics if you want to see what I’m talking about.

Hey I love Lego. In England there's a theme park called Lego Land. A great day out for all.

LOL thats really cute :hehe: My older brother just turned 25 this week and he also loves doing these things with the kiddies in our family so don’t worry you’re not the only one :hehe: i think its the cutest thing

But buying legos for YOURSELF? :smack: that a bit too much :hehe: joke aight keep having fun :hula:

I loved the space and the tech ones. It was great to learning then and still is.

I also used to have a couple of Mecano sets. Never seen those again but I am guessing the company went out of business (if you know otherwise, let me know)!

hmcq - you may be right about Meccano going bust, I don't think I have seen any of their kits around for ages.

used to play with the original lego.. huge sets i think we had a 912.. and those were tiny pieces..

now due to child safety concerns they have these 'bhadday' big blocks .. major turnoff.. took away all the fun...

Shahreen, irem, HMCQ, PakistaniAbroad: Thanks :k: for your responses.

Glad to see ‘some’ understanding people…although irem that hurt :frowning: why buy legos for myself? Because they look great even after your done making them. Theyre like my kind of ‘decoration’ pieces (yes I do realize the insane statement).

Anyways, still no luck finding some of the older sets. What is wrong with company? I mean they should be making more models than they have right now! Any guppies looking to sell or have any info on a good place to buy? Appreciate ANY help!

Gosh all this lego talk has bought back memories. I remember how i spent an entire weekend making this huge ferris wheel from the tiny lego blocks. Those were the days......

I was doing a search on the net and you would be suprised to see how many people have made these amazing sets. Just the other day, I saw a guy's website whose doing reenactments of the Lord of the Rings and Robin Hood. Also, a friend of mine brought to my attention that Legos have been used for robotics. Glad you had wonderful memories..so did I.

RajputFury, i am glad to learn that you have gained your interest back
:) Don't worry if you are 27 or whatever numerical number. For everything out there..you'll find fans..lego does have number of fan clubs..the legolands and other lego exhibitions are always put up by fans..which happen to be mostly adults.

I find lego's official site to be amazing..the shopping section is great too :)

Personally now i like their mosaics, belville series, dolls and orient expedition :)

Thanks for the PM Qrius ji…Also it feels better to know that atleast 1 person doesnt think of me as a freak of nature :hehe:

ARE U A 0FREAK

*pssttt i still play with guryas and ghar ghar with my little cousins  makes u feel any better?? *

keep at the legos n have fun

Aww shoot!

thats sweet of u

I can’t really “play” with those legos, I just end up building them and setting them aside like models. Actually some with some web based research. I did find a “support” group for my “affliction.” Hate to bring in the money angle but wow the resale market is smoking hot. I mean Legos back from 1986-1990 are going atleast 50% above their original price and these sets are USED! Looks like they have more uses after all…

wow, looks like I will have to dig out my old toy box next time I am round my parents house.

Shahreen, join us…join us :mocking:

C’mon folks can you really say no to this sitting on your desk?
