Legal advice needed.

Who to sue? A bookshop or a publisher? When u find a nose hair with something sticky stuck on a newly bought book’s page number 86. And when u turn the page from 85 to 86 it actually gets touched with ur finger :yukh:

I m emotionally hurt, distressed, it caused my time to wash my hands for hours, it cost me soaps, anti-septics and put my health on risk, what if it contained some virus in it like Hepatitis B/C etc. It brought hygiene problems and I m still in a mental shock. I cant read the book again either so it did cease me to read a good book too.

what charges can be put when filing a suit?

Thank u for ur help.

:bravo:

Re: Legal advice needed.

i'm sure they'll be able to settle it all with a 10-rupee payment to you :p

Re: Legal advice needed.

Johnny,

1 )first of all are you sure that the nose hair with something sticky was not your own?

2) Have you been involved in activities where getting hep-C was a possibility and are just using this as an excuse?

3) You live in Karachi, from a hygiene perspective, there are many more things to worry about than this thingie in your book

4) You may be able to sue but in the macho society, you will always walk with your head hung low as you would claim emotional disurbance from this incident.

Keeping all of the above in mind, I suggest you let things be.

Yours truly

Barrister Fraudia Esq LLB LLM JD

PS- not to make matters worse and cause you any more emotional distress, but how can you be sure that the hair and the sticky thing originated from the nasal and not other regions :)

PS2- enjoy scrubbing your hands some more.

Re: Legal advice needed.

Just let it go, someone in the press must have sneezed while checking the print quality.

One the second thought… I would have performed DNA test before proceeding in any direction and would have consulted a good lawyer (hint > the person above my post) to waste my money. Your age is perfect for lawsuit. By the time you will be close to retirement the verdict will be made, nice going dude :k:. Good luck with your quest.

Re: Legal advice needed.

jezz, don’t need a DNA test! just read what it says in page 86! that will give a clear idea what that really is.

EDIT:- was that still sticky when you noticed that??? if that is the case then you don’t need a lawer! see a doctor for amnesia treatment :halo:

Re: Legal advice needed.

lolllllllllllllllll so hilarious thread!!!!!!!!!

Re: Legal advice needed.

Jony, just imagine what else has been in contact with this book that has not left any evidence/finger prints.

I can’t even use books from the library because of this fear. I have a serious phobia … or serious issues. :bummer:

Re: Legal advice needed.

u gotta be kiddin..!!

Re: Legal advice needed.

Nose hair is just hair. If you ever get a hair graft, this might come in handy, so proceed to save that hair in your precious hair bank. Also, the sticky thing is a harmless chunk of booger, which derives its juicyness from the mucus and moisture, giving it a unique texture and color. Dont shun it, embrace it, glorify it.

Re: Legal advice needed.

ohh that's nasty. hopefully you'll end up in the hospital with some severe disease...

err i mean only because it'd be easier to sue :) not because then i'd run around like a wild child in the cafe if you weren't there to lock threads (as if i already don't)

Re: Legal advice needed.

tsk tsk tsk what this world is coming to. on a seprate note:- still nothing about contents of page 86, which is crucial in making a strong case.

Re: Legal advice needed.

If the contents of the page are so important, let me post em. Below is the contents of page 86.

And again his eyes glanced questioningly around.
‘Why should I be degraded? I don’t understand.’
‘Well Masha, order supper for three, with vodka and wine…No, wait. No, never mind… You may go.’

CHAPTER XXV

‘So you see…’* (the hair was found on this ‘So’)* Nicholas Levin Continued with an effort, wrinkling his brow and twitching.

He evidently found it hard to decide what to say and to do.
‘Do you see…’ he pointed to a bundle of iron rods tied together with string, in a corner of the room. ‘Do you see that? It is the beginning of a new business we are undertaking. The business is to be Productive Association…’

Constantine hardly listened. He kept glancing at his brother’s sickly consumptive face, and felt more and more sorry for him, nor could he force himself to pay attention to what Nicholas was telling him about the Association. He realized that this Association was merely an anchor to save his brother from self-contempt. Nicholas Levin continued speaking:

‘You know that capitalism oppresses the workers. Our workmen the peasants bear the whole burden of labor, but are so placed that, work as they may, they cannot escape from their degrading condition. All the profits on their labor, by which they might better their condition, give themselves some leisure, and consequently gain some education, all this surplus value is taken away by the capitalists. And our society has so shaped itself that the more the people work the richer the merchants and landlords will become, while the people will remain beasts of burden for ever. And this system must be changed,’ he concluded, with an inquiring look at his brother.

‘Yes of course,’ said Constantine, looking intently at the hectic flush which had appeared on his brother’s face below its prominent cheek bones.

‘And so we are starting a Locksmiths’ Association, in which all the products and the profits and, above all, the instruments of the production will be common property.’

‘Where will the business be?’ asked Constantine.
‘In the village of Vozdrema, Kazan Government.’
‘Why in a village? It seems to me there is plenty of work to do in the country as it is. Why start a Locksmiths’ Association there?’
‘Because the peasants are still just as much slaves as they used to
