Leftover Naan

Anybody have any good tips on how to store and re-heat leftover naan?

Re: Leftover Naan

I usually cover them with a plastic bag, wrap them well or they will become hard ..

When ready to reheat , just pat them lightly with plain water and either heat them over the tawa , or , microwave them …

you can also apply a thin layer of butter on the naan while reheating it , that crisps it up a little …

you can also freeze the naans , pop them into a food bag or just a plastic bag and place them into the freezer, when reheating , follow the same process as mentioned above.

Re: Leftover Naan

i just simply freeze them , thn wet them properly n fry in oil, so yummy wityh tea for breakfast :yummy:

Re: Leftover Naan

I think they’ll taste yumm if you add some pizza sauce on it, put some veg/non veg toppings, add some mozzarella cheese and it can be a pizza!

Re: Leftover Naan

put them in a ziplock and freeze. when you are ready to use it again, make sure you don’t thaw it first. what you do is put in a polythene bad [microwaveable ones] and heat it in the microwave using “thaw by weight” setting [roughly 5 minutes for 10 roTis]. they comes out like fresh and soft! Good Luck!

Re: Leftover Naan

Freeze them and when you want to reheat, wet them with water and then fry/heat them on a tawa with some oil like you make a paratha.

Re: Leftover Naan

has anyone else, here, felt , that if naan is reheated in the microwave , it starts getting hard so quickly … but when you do it on a tawa , it retains its softness …

Re: Leftover Naan

i don’t think so…if you heat in the oven, it becomes hard. if you wrap it in a plastic bag and heat in the microwave from the frozen state, it turns out soft and fresh…try once!

Re: Leftover Naan

Plastic bag in the microwave? is it not a health hazard? :konfused:

I always wrap the naan in a food cloth before heating it in the microwave , but i have felt that it starts becoming hard within minutes of reheating ..

Re: Leftover Naan

microwaveable plastic…the bread bag itself is microwaveable. the key is the retention of the moisture release from the bread. it should be retained somehow. the cloth wrap does NOT retain moisture. the lack of moisture makes the bread hard N chewy.

Re: Leftover Naan

i agree with you CB, i never reheat in microwave always use tawa n sprinklie little water

Leftover Naan

I freeze in ziplock bag. I reheat in the oven.
