Leftover chicken smell / taste

Salam everyone,

I hope its just not me! I think that leftover chicken dishes, especially thighs and legs portions, have certain smell / taste to it the nxt day or so?
I bhoonofy the meat with masalas 10 minutes or so atleast.
May be my technique is not correct. How do you get rid of this after taste / smell from chicken?
How long do you bhoonofy the chicken?
Anyone else felt this way about chicken? Please share.

Thanks

Re: Leftover chicken smell / taste

Urghh yeah, I have the same aversion to the smell n taste of chicken when heated the next day, unless its plain boiled chicken breast, other stuff smells foul (no pun intended!).

Other people don't seem to mind the smell / taste.

If the chicken is eaten cold (e.g. in sandwich) without being re-heated, its ok.

Re: Leftover chicken smell / taste

I think that happens for everyone, so this is what I do:

If it is a leftover salan, I fry an onion, add the salan, add some extra spices, and when it comes to a boil, add some soaked rice. You get a yummy tahiri type deal.

If it's baked/grilled chicken, I stir fry it with onions, chunk of garlic and ginger and tomatoes.

Re: Leftover chicken smell / taste

Yeah we all suffer from that. What I mostly do is that after I'm done cooking, I just transfer everything to a dish with a lid and put it in the fridge. And then we just take out the salan in our plates, warm it up and eat. I've found this to work.. as in the whole dish doesn't really get re-heated over n over again. Also it's only me n hubs at home, so obv we can do with this. If you live with family you might just have to heat the whole dish at once.. (im thinkin..) :S
