In a coooker? For channay ki daal? Are you sure? I ended up using 5 cups for 1 cup daal, didn’t need to add any extra water.

Too late , since you have already cooked it.
But just for sharing, normally, I add just three cups of water for one cup channa daal. Pressure cook it until its almost 75% done and then do the rest of the cooking with out pressure and in a covered pan.
This process helps you eliminate any extra water out of the daal, coz the lentil wont have been cooked to the mushiness , its harder to get water out if mushed.
you can use that same water to losen up the daal salan after the bhooning process.

I am not a daal khor so I do not know daal to water ration, but I do know that yes if you use 9 cup of water and one cup of daal you can use this daal to wash your face. ![]()
