you are right there are many great ulemas and scholars amongst the shias and their lectures are also readily avalible but what I am trying to say is that these people are not very popular with the masses and how many people care to look at books and lectures ? at the most 1 in 50
majalis is still the most
effective way of communication with the masses in the shia community.

I did that a couple of times but always was presented with the argument that "zakireen know better "

it is upto people like you to take the initiative encourage reading and listining lectures of ulemas who are expert in history to present the facts about karbala and DISCOURAGE attending majalis where zakirs of questionable credentials are allowed to speak....even though at times most of these distortions are not because of any lack of knowledge but to score points ...i was disappointed that even a scholar like kalb-e-sadiq would succumb to it
