GD,
Based on my experience in University recruitment committees and candidate auditions, my advice would be to make sure that you tie in your presentation with your subject area, and don’t just generically talk about inspiring/influencing students.
Making the presentation more personable will also help. Try to recount your own experiences as a student and talk about things that you appreciated/liked and how you will adopt and enhance those tactics in your teaching practice.
Also, I would strongly encourage you to consult a couple of recent publications in your subject area that talk about pedagogical innovations in your discipline… and make sure you somehow impress upon the committee members that you’re aware of these things.
Lastly, make sure you either start or end your presentation with your teaching philosophy statement that summarizes your viewpoints and comprises the key take-aways you want the audience to have from your presentation.
Hope this helps - best of luck with your audition.
