Day after day, Lebanese actress Nour achieves more and more unexpected success, and proves to everyone including herself that she is really talented as an actress.
Nour started her career as a commercial model. Director Saeed Hamed noticed her talents and innocent looks, which encouraged him to gamble and give her a leading role in the movie “Short Wa Fanela Wa Cap”, which was a hit. Then she worked with director Ali Edrees in the movie “As-hab Walla Business” (Friends Or Business), which was equally a hit.
After she finished her last movie “As-hab Walla Business”, she left Cairo and went to her home country Lebanon for a long break, during which she received many offers to work in the theater, which she admires a lot. She turned down all the offers because she felt they weren’t of the same high standards as her movies.
Later on, she received a call from director Khaled Galal and actor Mostafa Shaaban, offering her a role in a play at the National Theater. She accepted the role after reading Lenin Al Ramly’s script. Nour found the role different from anything else she was previously offered, and fell in love with it. She traveled to Cairo to meet with the director and the rest of the cast, and as soon as she walked into the theater, she felt terrified, realized how big the event was, and the challenge she was about to face.
Nour then started rehearsing the part and, to her surprise, she came to the conclusion that working in the theater is much harder than working in movies. She works at least 8 hours everyday and two hours alone practicing the right accent, and with all that she still enjoys every moment of it.
In this performance, Nour plays the role of a moody-self-absorbed neurotic girl, which, she says, is a very complicated role, but with the help of the director and writer she was able to manage it. The play is a political-comedy.
Back home in Lebanon, Nour is not as famous as she is in Egypt; That’s why she says, she was never offered a job in the Lebanese theater, though she received more than one offer to work in Lebanese Television, which she turned down because she doesn’t feel ready to appear on Lebanese TV.
For different reasons, Nour turned down more than one offer to star in new movies, and the only one she agreed to star in, “Cairo Athens Cairo” with director Saed Hendawy, is still on the waiting list due to some production problems. But she says, it could still be her come back to the cinema.
Despite the rumors, Nour is currently single, she only wants to love and be loved and has no special dreams in her love life.
