How do you feel when you’re forced to resign, fired, or face harassment to the point where you quit your job?
Mental anguish, financial troubles, embarassment, how do you feel and what do you do?

Re: Leaving work
You should stay strong, as it is part of professional life. You should talk to u'r seniors and managers. Let them know how u feel and how it can be controlled. You should also file a grievance. Talk to u'r friends at work and ask them for advice.
Pray and Good luck :)

Re: Leaving work
You should try to get to the core of the problem.
Why are they harassing you and what steps have you taken regarding this. Have you spoken to your boss about this?
Re: Leaving work
Yes, don't be afraid to stand up for your rights at your workplace. And then, you always have a choice to resign and look for something else if things don't work out in your favor.
Re: Leaving work
I was looking to see if it had happened to anyone here and how you guys coped with it.
Ever since we have had a change in management, I feel that the new GM is constantly over my head, picking on me, scrutinizing my every move and literally harassing me. Slowly, she has fired every other person, and brought in her staff from the other property. And with the new Asst. GM who I report to directly, it has gotten much, much worse. It's almost like two of them vs. me. Today, I just filed a complaint with the HR because I think I am just going to leave in the coming days. With my wedding only 3 weeks away, I can't put up with this constant depression that work is causing me. Sadly, the people I should be going to at work to resolve my issues are the cause of them.
Please make dua, I know Allah swt will do the best and bless me with something better after but I really love my work and would hate to leave the coworkers who I have become so close to.

I agree with Niks, and I was about to say the same thing, you cant just let someone walk all over you! Put up a good fight or you would regret it for the rest of your life!

Re: Leaving work
It happened to me a couple of times in the begining of my practical life. Since I had some mouths to feed therefore I did not quit till I found another job. I was naive' did not feel like confronting , did not know anything about office politics.
Since you have decided to quit, as a last resort , confront your boss and your GM let them know that they are driving you crazy and you are contemplating quiting the job. Their response will help you decide better. If they say sorry if you feel that way it is up to you and you are free to go and look for another job. Or they might tell you that they never realized that they were driving you crazy and the things were so bad and they might change their behavior.
Re: Leaving work
I think it is always sad to leave a job. Personally where I thought that I no longer enjoyed the confidence of my superiors or that I could no longer give it my 100% then I have thought it honourable to resign immediately.
Re: Leaving work
Shay: Don't stick around at a place where you simply don't feel good. I know it's probably easier said then done, but hey you deserve better! Especially, like you said - with your wedding coming up and all, it's your right to get up and leave if you feel so bad about it. Anyhow remember, everything always happens for a reason na? :)

if it is harassment, then fight it, even if you leve later.
if u are being forced to resign opr pushed just because, fight it too, but look for another role, and get out when u can.
I have been laid off before and was furious that they picked me but that was a great move for me, thats when I saw the biggest jump in my compensation and got into my ideal company at that time.
earlier in my career, I was pushed around, and it was simply nto worth fighting for, i hated the company and hated the work, so as they put me in pressure, I decided to leave, it came as a shock to them because they thought i could be pushed around and i just walked away, i had planned to leave and move to a diff city for my wife to finish her education anyways, and had started interviewing there. Initially I wanted to stay until I found a diff job but then i decided it was simply not worth it, and while things were tense moneywise an personally i worked out well.
Re: Leaving work
I was in a horrible situation at my last place of employment. I had a track record of super reviews, one of the biggest bonus earners every year in the groups that I worked in and I dedicated myself completely to my job. Well, since I was completely honest with my boss and told him that I was having trouble conceiving and I would "retire" once I got my house in order...instead of working with me and being thankful, he started hunting me, looking to save a few bucks and make me quit before I got pregnant so that they'd have to pay maternity leave.
I kept written records of everything. He said that I didnt answer the night pager, that I came in late, that I didnt work on the things that he assigned me and wrote these things in my review. I wrote a rebuttal. I supplied emails (from people who thanked me for answering their calls at any time of day or night), I saved my own personal phone bills to show how much I'd call in to work. THEN I took it all to the Human Resources department and lodged a formal complaint. I ended up resigning - on my own terms a few months later. Then a few months after that, the boss I worked for was asked to find himself another job - quickly.
Stand up for yourself and document everything.
