a friend raised a question that at a certain age we should kind of hang less with friends and concentrate on family.

I think when you being to realize your parents aren't going to get any younger (neither themself), you start to spend less time with friends. It's just natural as you get older to...need that time with your parents/family, I guess.

lol, its prob also when you realize no one is going to stick with you in your rough times except your parents.

There should be balance and thats it. Leaving friends and concentrating on family may create a vacuum in one's life altogether because sometimes we need friends who understand us more.

Well, the family itself is a group of BESTEST friends :-)
It is just that Allah (swt) selected for us these friends, a blessing that is at times taken for granted by less thankful people like me, unfortunately. May Allah (swt) forgive us and bless us with the wisdom to thank Him quite often for HIS gifts in the form of friends and relatives.
