Well I wasn’t planning on buying a used car since I prefer new cars But now that I NEED a car and have a limited budget I might as well buy a used car.
I am not planning to keep the car for more than 3 years so I guess leasing would be a better option for me. A car worth $5000 would be okay and I can pay $2000 down payment.
I will be moving to NJ for about 8 months and where I am right now is a small cityin the mid west.
Is it advisable to get the car from NY/NJ or midwest?
If I buy it from here then I will have to drive all the way to NJ which is roughly 1000 miles. And putting so many km on the car is not a very good idea if it is leased unless ofcourse i have it shipped. : - | So the question really is, is it worth buying the car from NJ?
Does it also depend on the deal? On a side note it would be nice to have NJ number plate :~) but then again I don’t know if I can keep a NJ number plate when I leave.
Would my insurance depend on where i get the license plate/car from?
Following are the cars which I will be looking at:
Toyota Celcia
Dodge Neon
Mitsubishi Galant
Any suggestions or comments would be appreciated. Thanx!

err...car worth $5000 and u pay $2000 down, pay the rest on the lease terms? and for those cars in bold? best of luck :p
as far as i understand, leasing is an option most dealerships offer on newer cars...not the older ones...the latter, u can finance though...and for that price, u r lookin @ cars which won't be that new...i might be wrong, but thats what i thought happens :)

thats US dollars :D i have looked up the prices for these cars and it ranges from 3000-7000+ from websites like autotrader.
In the US when u say "leasing a car" it means 'renting' it for a specific term (usually 2-3 yrs). They usually only lease new cars. And the list of cars u have (i was a little taken aback by the 3 cars and how different they are) I don't think r below $15000 (Neon may be less).
Take Galant for instance. Its about $20k approx, if u give a $2k down the monthly pmt would be about $300-350 for a 3 yr lease
For leasing qurries and car slection please email me ,,with your pocket budget,,,whether you own a busuiness,,how much down payment in mind,,,KM to derive per year at an average,,,prefer v6 or 4 cylanders,,
etc etc etc,,,I can calculate and adv you,,,bless ya

You wanna lease a car worth $5,000? This is way too confusing.
In addition to what others have already said, I detect some going back-and-forth between miles and kms. Bhai, stick to one scale.
okay okay :p :p i thought it was possible to lease a used car because i
remember talking to somebody who once "leased" a used car. it was a long time ago and it turns out that he had financed it. anywazzzz
so now the only option i am left with is financing. soo ppplll advise on financing now. :-) the questions which i asked in my first apply to financing also...sooo..
faisal bhai jan..it is in miles (the second was a typo). midwest is approximately 1000 miles from nj. also could you plz elaborate the imp of the distance being in km or miles?
