Today i was getting bored, But my ammi has many Rassalay at home (pakeeza,etc etc), and i am always very curious to read those, but i can’t cause i cant really read urdu ..
But i thougt: “Whatever! , Zaima just try to read it !!”, so i picked a Rassala, and with coincedence i picked a story out of the rassala, and it was Koi lamha ghulab sa ( they also made a drama of it and they show it on prime tv, imran abbas and naheed shabbir play in it )
I was trying to read the Title of the story, (i can read urdu for 50 50, but they give the title of the story another handwriting, so thats why it was difficult to read )
But then i read the story, and i follow the drama sometimes, so i read the name of Imran “sheheryar” and the name of Naheed “Faiqa” .. then i was sure that it is the same drama and same story .. and i read 1 page (some words were to difficult to read), but however i tried.. and feel very proud that i could read it ..
Anyone has the same problem like me ?? weak in reading urdu?
What i dont get is, when i am in pakistan i can read **everything **in urdu .. and here my urdu is getting a bit weaker in reading.. plz help mee …
Do you know how to read Arabic? If you do, then reading urdu shudn't be that difficult? Do you know how to write Urdu script?
Try learning how to write and reading wud become easy :D
Nevertheless, Practice makes Perfect, so keep reading. Another lesson for you, when you ahve kids, make sure you teach them Urdu right from the start, both reading and writing, duayen deinge tumhein baray ho keh :)
hahah Yeah i know how ro read arabic..
yeah i know without practising i will never come so far .. but i tried today, so Shauk mere me bhar gaya hai.. And whatever happend I want and WILL read those Rassalay !! lolll
yeah my dad still says to me Ke urdu seekho !! and then i say Mujhe aati haii!!
lehkin dil mein sochti hoon, Haan mujhe seekhni haìi!! .. lol
Mujhe be kabi kabi josh charhta hai urdu seekne ka. I usually pick up an urdu magazine of my parents and try to read it. Stare at it for a while, try to make out some words, then put it back down.
I dont dare to write urdu .. cus i know i can’t , when i was young i learned urdu from a kayda, and tried to write urdu, lehkin mera dehaan kahin aur jaata tha ..
aap dono khawateen i mean zaima and kino yaha GS par agar apni sari thread urdu main kholain aur har thread ka jaawb bhi urud main hi dain to meray khyal say kafi apki urdu kafi behtar ho jaye gi , kionkay bohat saray log yahan par har waqt apki urdu sahi karnay kay liye mojood hongay ,,, yeh aik tajweez hai ... baqi aap ki marzi ... jo seekhay uska bhi bhala jo na seekhay uska bhi bhala :)
Well the thing is, I knew how to read and write in urdu but forgot it over time. So now I have decided the next time I go to pak I am getting myself those urdu school books starting from pre-k to probably sixth grade to help me understand urdu.
Ok.. thats good .. we have also some old kittabein, Lehkin woh bohut asaan hain, lehkin phir bhi, i will read them once again, baaqi i am going to start reading those Rassalay, and will try to come out myself.. and take a bit help of someone .. Pehle mein koshish nahin karti thi, but now i am trying so i am sure it will help me out :)
