**Asslam-o-Alaikum.
One of my friends (muslim friend) is interesting in learning hebrew.
He wanted to know if this is against islam or is there anything wrong learning a yahudi’s language.
He loves learning languages of the world, bcoz he thinks that maybe one day it might be helpful.

How bizarre that anyone would consider cultural and historical attributes such as language divinely guided. Or that God would have issues learning other languages. To me, this indicates that there are many cultural customs that have been integrated into the practicce of Islam and followers are confused where religion starts and culture stops.

learn it!!! absolutely i think a crap load of Jewish Zionist Israeli's know Arabic, th eUs millitary hires non-arab people who speak arabic, its become quite a popular language to learn here in the US - arabic that is!

Seminole - just like the west groups together muslims/terrorists/everyone with the name mohammad/anybody with a beard/ etc in one confused group, we easterners tend to group together terrorists/americans/jews/israelis/hebrew in another confused group. Hence the query.
