getting a fantastic deal on a 720p, and a while back i read that b/e 1080i and 720p its really no noticable difference.
what about a 720p vs a 1080p.
what about viewing programs broadcast in 1080 or videogames and blue ray etc.
its for a 46 inch sharp LC46D43U aquos. I have always liked it, but just dont wantto get something that will have a compatibility issue 2 years later with broadcast signals or other devices
even if u weren’t getting it for the same price, i would’ve recommended the 1080P :k:
1080P has a higher resolution, which is quite noticable on large screen TVs (42"+)…not to mention, it’s gonna be good for the upcoming “forced” conversion to digital signals - i read somewhere that by the end of the yr, or early next yr, all stations in the US will stop broadcasting in analog…so eventually everything will move towards HD in the next few yrs…and 720P might be cheaper right now, but 1080P will pretty much guarantee that ur TV is going to last u a while, keeping in mind all these changes…who knows whats gonna happen to 780P in 5 yrs time with all these advances in technology…perhaps that will be phased out too, and stations will only be broadcasting in 1080P
within 47 minutes of postin booth posts, you got a great price break man
abay kitnay TV khareedae gaa ..
No one answered here, so i contacted my brother in law who is a guru at this stuff and on top of that is one of those guys who can find you great deals on anything .. just knows where to look, catalogs, coupons, special offers, so he hooked me up
kitnay? yaaar have not bought one yet..analysis paralysis
I bolted from the sharp deal it as an online joint with mixed reviews. place was shopdigitalonline.com. many complaints about damaged merchandise, selling refurb as new, customer service issues and I just did not want the headache.
I still like the aquos but got a sony bravia locally.
what i have read is that 720 and 1080p diff is not apparent in anything less than a 36-37. but then i dont know much about it, thus the thread :)
For your room, get a Vizio. Good picture. Great prices.
1080p is just for future-proofing. There is no visible difference between 720p and 1080p for naked eye. There is no television broadcast in 1080p. There are no plans to have any in the near future either. Conversion to digital will not result in 1080p broadcast. It takes too much bandwidth and not enough visual difference. All HD content is currently on 720p (BTW trust me once you get hooked on HD, you will hate yourself when you have to watch SD).
Your only use of 1080p HD (or full HD as they call it), will be if you get a Full HD camcorder (most HD camcorders are 1080p), and then either view it directly, or burn to Blueray discs. But even then, a 720p HD television will give you an amazing picture.
In a nutshell, if the price difference is neglible go with 1080p. Else, save the money and invest in upgrading your sound or, if you have taken care of everything else in your life, then conysider donating to Edhi or something.
ps. All above is based on my personal philosophy, that most electronics should be focibly disposed off no later than 3 years. In 3 years time, I will retire my current HDTV and get whatever is new in the world. No need to future-proof for the next decade. Keeps life's choices simple.
i believe Faisal had noted a while back that he bought a vizio and was happy with its performance. that was one of the reasons I was considering it as well

Faisal what abut Blu ray stuff .. will that makes much of a diff. between 720P and 1080P
Not visible to naked eye, unless you are a videophile of the highest order.
Nikema, no idea to your second question. Re: Vizio, yes, I have one. Really good quality. For the price I paid for it, can't beat the deal. HD channels look amazing on it. Bought it 12 months ago for $650 (42" LCD), with 2 HDMI and all the other connectivity options you may need. No memory card slot though, but that was not a factor in my decision. It has a RGB/VGA slot, so I can plug my laptop to it and watch picture slide shows as well as all kinds of YouTube videos and cricket streaming. Can't ask for more for that kind of money.
