I am planning to buy a 40 inch LCD TV very soon, I have decided to buy LCD after having detailed research on both Plasma and LCD and I know what I need between two.

- Question is how important is having 1080p at this moment?**
As someone in Future Shop told me, most of the programming in high defination these days are made on 720p and very few are on 1080p.
Should I go for 720p/1080i instead, since most of the programing is on 480 or 720?
