Does the forum have funds to get a new layout? A bigger banner, 100x100 avatars (without restriction of posts). This is the top forum for discussing anything to do with Pakistan, can we do something about how it looks or its too much hassle?

Thank you for reaching out with your thoughts, and suggestions regarding the Forum layout, and tweaking of existing features. We are always fine-tuning the forum and features in the form of updates which address member reported issues, and addition of features based on feedback.
The issue is not funding per se. It has more to do with ease of use for members. The current format has been in place for a long time with minor changes to address/improve placement of contents. The reason this layout, and design have stuck around for so long is because others have found it easy to navigate. I think it flows easy. The layout of any forum becomes a part of its' identity symbol. That's not to say change is not encouraged.
Please continue to float more ideas, all your feedback is much appreciated, and every bit of feedback of our valued members like yourself is taken into consideration before and during the course of routine maintenance updates.

I always wondered who the admin was. :D Thankyou for your reply. I've stubbled upon some forums which use the same template at gs and i always recheck the link address cos I mistake them for gs. So yes its just very gs' y and I see your point.
What I don't get is the little feature, like avatars' size is kept so small, we should be allowed to upload a 100 px picture, it adds to the beauty of the forum, gives it some color. We have a vibrant showbiz section which I'm more active on than others and I was planning on making mini avatars of celebs and open my own thread of creations, whilst making some I realised the size was too big from what I've seen on gs, so I screengrabbed some members box avatars and they were all 50x50 or less (those scary creatures in forums storage are tiny). Ofcourse when you have million other things to sort in the forum this seems like a nonissue, but for members these things matter a lot, avatars give 'us' some identity. Please increase the size to 100 or 150 px. I read an old post where someone was complaining about the size reduction, meaning forum allows for bigger avatars. You can ask others for their opinion, I don't want to force it on others, but its a request.

Next the banner, we had a compitition recently with some very good entrees, but its a shame that people had to squeeze their creativity in a tiny 320x100. If moneys not an issue you can ask some online sites to create a banner for us, nothing extravagent but something cool and hip. This forum is full of them, they deserve it. This won't affect forums initial layout, which is basic but it clearly works so keep it.

Yeah I agree. I already said to @Shak this place needs an updated forum interface. This is old, the ads make it look messy. It doesn’t load, it lags. The my profile bit is messy. Sending pms is kinda annoying. Avatars are small and should be a little bigger.

Thank you both. We will definitely look in to implementing your suggestions in the upcoming updates in addition to other suggestions. Your concerns about the performance of the forum are very valid, and it is something that was recently addressed. More work remains, and we will continue to tweak the forum including and features based on the feedback.

What @Bella and @Sentry have said. Also I’ve noticed that whenever I upload a picture with transparent background it creates a very bad outline around the image. Any support for that?

Well, now it didn’t import the transparent background but instead it replaced it with the blue. not the Also when I tried adding the image through the image button it didn’t let me do that as the file was invalid but it did import the image and it’s now in the attachment of this post. also the image with blue background was uploaded through image uploader. Same image, same format.

^Same happens with black and white images, they get funny white pixels around them and kinda ruin the picture.
Please guys share your views on this if you need any changes done to the forums look, lets push the admins to the edge! I'm just kidding. :P

100 px avatar :hmmm:
I am sure, UI guy knows what is the reason of not having 100 px avatar. It may cause page loading slow.
@teggy Can you enable avatar feature in upcoming release?
