Layers or No Layers? Help!

Hi girls! I have long-ish hair (a few inches past my shoulders) and, while I have plenty of hair, my hair is thin/fine. When it was shorter I had layers which I began growing out once it got longer. I have a hair appointment next week and I’m a bit confused as to what type of cut I should get. I want to keep my length (I’m growing it now) but I’m not sure whether to get my layers re-styled or not because I don’t know whether the layers will make my hair look thinner. I was considering keeping my layers long but then having a short top layer (how short?) to add volume to my hair but I’m not sure. I guess I could just continue aiming to get it all one length but I don’t want it to look boring.

Any advice? Should I get a short top layer (if so, what length should it be?) or just get a tiny trim at the ends and continue growing out the previous layers?

Thanks!

Re: Layers or No Layers? Help!

Hey i have the same problem with my hair, I have long hair too but its thin, and I want volume in my hair....what I usually do is get long layers and then get a very thin amount of hair from the back and get it cut up to my ears...that way it looks long, and when I backcomb that little section of hair, I have volume...but just remember to take only a little bit of the hair, otherwise it will look weird from the back...

and just ask the hairstyler what to do, they usally will cut it for you how u like it :)
