Re: LAundry tips
Lol I saw the show and kept thinking, women who depend with their lives on maids in Pakistan and can’t be bothered to sort out their whites from colours are actually going to go through all that trouble? ![]()
Re: LAundry tips
I liked the way she was telling people to do laundry properly.
In Pakistan, normally they add detergent once and keep washing clothes till it water in the washing machine turns black, regardless of undergarments, bed sheets or whatever.
My family back home are rich but they dont have automatic washing machines as they say they are paying maids to do washing why bother.
whenever i go i have to supervise maid while washing my clothes as they tend to rub brush on jeans or something else.
Re: LAundry tips
yes and of course maid will do even dirty underwear of girls.....i used to ask my SIL's to wash their blood stained underwear before giving to maid....but that involves using valuable part of their body i.e hand.
and i am dead sure maid doesnt prewashes them and just puts in washing machine with other clothes.
Re: LAundry tips
Even we had maids in Pakistan but no way my mother could trust them with clothes. ![]()
Back then, the dryer did not completely dry the clothes completely, they came out damp. Life is so much easier with the machines we have now lol. Can’t imagine what it was like for our grandmas, to wash everything by hands. ![]()
Still, you got to use the stain removers for the stain, sort your laundry, check pockets and wash according to the instructions. Clothes are easier to iron if you straighten it out right away after laundry. Don’t leave wet clothes too long, they start to stink, especially during summers. Wash ASAP or hang to dry before you dump it in for laundry for later. Wash baby clothes separate. Basic, basic stuff.
For tricky stuff - GOOGLE. Like once I noticed an oil stain on a new shirt my hubby bought, wore it once. I put it in laundry twice, used stain remover but nothing got it out completely. I read somewhere, rubbing Dawn dish detergent on it will get it out, tried that and it worked!
I was concerned about the dark blue colour, didn’t want it to fade and thank God the colour was perfectly fine.
LAundry tips
whaaatt... I would never give my underwear to any maid to wash weather its bloody or not. For God Sake.. cant you wash your own damn underwear??
Re: LAundry tips
No need to imagine. When I stay in Pak, I have to hand wash and rinse all our clothes. Thank god in laws at least have a spinner to get the water out and the fact the weather is hot so they dry . It’s not like they cannot afford a proper machine but since the maid washes the clothes, they think a machine is unnecessary and she will just break it (which is highly doubtful).
