daal kudoo???
make masala, onion ,tomato, GG, salt, redpepper,haldi, garam masala, dhani pwd. zeera pwd.
bhoonofy it.
boil chana daal half cook.
boil kudoo half way.
now add chana daal to the masala, bhonofy.
add kudoo. bhonofy. if you need water add a little bit of water.
let it cook till the time u think it's combined.
at the end add pinch of kasoori meethi.
do tarka of piyaz, green chilli.
sprinkle corriander leaves and garam masala.

but but but , there will be something better to cook at home. Or at least give the poor guy one more choice. At least make egg omelet.

Nothing wrong if you put some meat in it too. :D It becomes yummier. A man needs his meat even in a daal , specially in chanay key daal.

i don't make chane ki daal with meat...
i make daal ghost with masoor daal...u know karachi style...

Hmm i dont like to boil my daal or kadoo before cooking, to me it messes up taste.
You can just make typical masala like you do for let's say gosht...
fry onions, add garlic then tomatoes. Add masalas (thania/zeera/mirch/haldi/loang/salt etc).....and once the tomatoes have softened, add in the chopped green kaddoo. Saute for about 3-5 minutes. Then add the pre-soaked channa dal to it in the center. Add bare minimum water if you want, but the kaddoo releases enough liquid to soften up. Set the fire to low & just let it simmer till tender. To me slow cooking without added water makes it taste better. Yummy!!!!
