There was a discussion going on in the other lash growth thread and I think it’s better to make a separate thread for it in case people are interested. Basically, Careprost is a generic version of Latisse. Latisse is available via prescription only and costs $110 for 3ml, it’s used to grow lashes and brows. Careprost is the generic version and costs $10 for 3ml. So it’s Latisse available at a 91% discount. There is a site which sells this but they charge $25 (!!) for shipping. Here is the website.
You can also read more reviews here. Remember, 3ml lasts 6-8 weeks, even longer if you only use it sparingly for upkeep once you reach the results you want.
Whoever is interested, please let me know by posting below. Basically, if enough people decide they want to give this a try and you feel comfortable sending me the money via Paypal, I can place an order on our behalf and ship it to you guys once it arrives. Let me know what you guys think.

Re: Latisse's (eyelash/brow growth) generic version= Careprost. (Group order info!)
@paheli , I know you use Careprost, how do you like it?
I used 2 of these bottles last year and just got 2 last month. Personally, I don't use them daily b/c of the potential side effects.
7-10 days before special events, I apply this nightly. I put 2-3 drops on the cap....dip my Ulta bent liner brush in it....and apply it on both lids like a liner. I wait until a layer dries...and then apply another layer on top. I do this 3-4 times. After 7-10 days of nightly usage, my lashes are noticeably longer and thicker. Then I stop using it and after 2-3 weeks....I go back to "normal".
I will note that at times when I apply this.....the area does get a little red and itchy. It usually goes away after 30 minutes. Due to the limited long-term research on it so far....I'm very hesitant to use it on a daily basis. But for special occassions (Eid, Shaadi's etc).....this stuff does wonders! :)

^Thank you! Do you use about a drop on each eye? They say to not use more than a drop, do you think that's why you get redness? And how long does one bottle last you? From the reviews of both Careprost and Latisse, they say 3ml should last 6-8 weeks. Does your bottle usually last that long?

Might be (re: the redness). Because I dip the brush and then apply.....I guess I've never been super strict on counting the drops. Plus I also apply some of it to my eyebrows (my ends don't grow much on their own). But I will say that yes, I probably apply more than the recommended amount due to the layering. But the redness/itchiness isn't unbearable for me. And it goes away after a while.
I can't really help with how long the bottle lasts since I don't use it on a regular basis. With my infrequent use...it look me all of last year to finish up 2 bottles.
There's no question on the effectiveness of the product. It works. If you're planning on using it regularly, I'd say go ahead and order more than 1 bottle (it'll save money on the long run). Also, if anyone here is lucky enough to have light colored eyes.....be aware that there's a potential this can darken the eye color. I have a friend with gorgeous light green eyes who refuses to use this just for that reason. For those with super fair skin.....hyperpigmentation on application site is also a possiblity. So keep on eye out for both if you fall into that category. :)

^Great info, thanks! And wow, 2 bottles took a year. Given, you used it for special occasions but that is still amazing! I think I want to order 2 bottles too, now.

I am up for this but I am pregnant at the moment and still have about 4 months to go for delivery. Do you think it is safe for me to use. I don't really have lashes (they are so tiny). I had to stop wearing contacts during my last pregnancy due to the severe dryness and itchiness. I talked to an ophthalmologist and he said it does happen for some women.
If it is safe for me to use I would love to go in on this with you M.
Right now I am using Castor oil on a daily basis on my eyebrows and eyelashes. Haven't seen much of a difference but I have only been using it for 2 weeks.

I personally wouldn't use it while being pregnant but you can still order it and use it after. From what I hear, they have a long shelf life. But do check with your doctor and ask if you could use Latisse/or generic versions while being pregnant.

BTW, in case this makes any difference to those of you ordering....I checked my Retin A and Careprost that I got from ADC last month for their expiration dates.
Retin A - .025% cream = July 2013
Careprost = August 2013
The stuff they send is good for use for at least 1.5 years.
