I think providing news in and of itself is a useful service. Rather than follow a rigid structure of requiring OP to provide his take in order to drive the discussion, there should be sufficient flexibility for anyone to jump in, provide their take and drive the discussion. Sometimes we can get caught up in rules to our detriment.

That’s at least my “philosophy”.

I am not applying strict rules but i am encouraging the OP for discussion’s sake instead. Furthermore, it is not that hard to follow the rules.
Taking this article as an example, OP can even ask other members simple questions like, “what could be the reason behind this” alteast, atleast you can ask “why”?
That is a type of philosophy called "casual philosophy or wannabe philosophy ".

p.s. Please dont confuse “wannabe philosophy” with “wannabe philosopher”.
