BBC News - Latino Muslims: Hispanic Americans leaving Catholicism for Islam
With more than 50 million Hispanics living in the US, the Latino community is now the country’s biggest minority.
While most are brought up within the Catholic Church, a number of them are turning to Islam.
Precise figures are difficult to pin down as the US Census does not collect religious data, but estimates for the number of Latino Muslims vary between 100,000 and 200,000.
The BBC’s Katy Watson went to Union City in New Jersey - where the population is more than 80% Hispanic - to meet some converts.

I think providing news in and of itself is a useful service. Rather than follow a rigid structure of requiring OP to provide his take in order to drive the discussion, there should be sufficient flexibility for anyone to jump in, provide their take and drive the discussion. Sometimes we can get caught up in rules to our detriment.
That's at least my "philosophy".

I am not applying strict rules but i am encouraging the OP for discussion's sake instead. Furthermore, it is not that hard to follow the rules.
Taking this article as an example, OP can even ask other members simple questions like, "what could be the reason behind this" alteast, atleast you can ask "why"?
That is a type of philosophy called "casual philosophy or wannabe philosophy ".
p.s. Please dont confuse "wannabe philosophy" with "wannabe philosopher".

My confusion deepens. No question OP can ask the question you suggested. Or any other. But we get bogged down on such details. Rather than taking the ball and running with it.
The last two sentences went over my head.

^ to me its about spiritual tendency of people. out of other natural reasons to follow a religion, one is to fulfill your spiritual needs. no offence intended but other religions do not concentrate on making people practicing followers that is the reason Christians are leaving Christianity and adopting Islam as spirituality
cannot be realized unless you practice your
religion.

Merely being "fundamentalist" and "right-winger" doesnt mean one is practicing. btw, would you mind sharing details you know about them? I mean how much in strength they are? etc.
