Thats a clsoe to a sure thing as possible!

11/4=2.75/1!!!

Bet on SA for a semi decent return, if they win, with Australia you hardly make a penny. :frowning:

India/Pakistan are good bets, but I fancy the WI for a punt myself. Probably wont win, got a decent chance, and with those odds…ooooh baby.

If Chris Cairns is fit then Usually can be very dangerous team . :)

Dont underestimate them. Tehy are very good oneday side and have great utility players.

Also I think SL is highly overrated here. They have never shown any good performance outside Subcontinant and Sharjah and I believe this time its not gonna be any exception.

If I had to rate chances..I will rate it like this

Australia
South Africa
Pakistan
India
New Zealand
England
West Indies
Sri Lanka
Zimbabwe

I did not know NAMIBIA was playing. Where is this country located, my geography fails me.. I guess Africa....
kahan-kahan se country oothaaa ke le aate hain....

Namibia is next door to SA.

aaney do in Namibia, Netherlands jessy teams ko

atleast pakistan will qualify for the SuperSixes:D

Who cares!
When it comes to World Cup, Pakistan are second best after Australia.
South African are chokers, and with the pressure on them winning the world cup specially in their own backyard will make it even more tough.
Remeber no team has ever won a WC at home.
Their are only 2 possible winners, Pakistan or Australia.
South Africa will choke again in the semis.

Yes Pakistan consistantly blow away the strong teams, they just stormed SA 5-0 at home, that following a 3-0 drubbing of the Australians. :rotfl"

There speaks the self-appointed Sports Analyst of the Year LOL!

matey, save yourself some cash, WI couldn't win the WC even if they entered the Under-15 competition by mistake. If you are going to go for long odds try England at 16-1. Not that they'll win it either.

What about Pakistan choking in a world cup final and making a mere 130? South Africa will have a home advantage.

why do you need to consider "odds" when you already know who will win the world cup like you knew the outcome of Pak v SA games??? :p

This is my list of probables for winning the cup, in order:

South Africa
Australia
New Zealand
Pakistan
India
Zimbabwe
Sri Lanka
England
West Indies

I think this world cup will be about who comes second. Australia will take the cup, the competition is who will come second.

No Aussies this time ..It has always happened since 1983 that Favourites dont win. :)

I undertsand AUS are good team but one bad day at SEMIFINAL or FINAL and it could be over for AUS. so We shouldnt be that sure.We all know what happened to them in ICC cup.
This is what makes World Cup so Interesting.

Pakistan made it to the finals, and Pakistan has previously won the WC before.
South Africa choked in the semis aganist Australia, they were overall the best team of the tournament when it came to league matches and super sixes, but soon as they went on pressure, they choked.

No home team and no favorites has won, and inshallah this won't happen this time either.

One day is anybody's game, even Australia aren't that dominant as they are in test, they are certainly better than the rest but they are not dominant.

I look at odds to gauge the feelings of professional punters at the mo, they ALWAYS have insider infomation, and plus its good for a laugh.

The WI are a good outsdie bet, they have a very decent top 6, esp with Lara in form, plus they are finally getting what seems to be a good crop of bowlers together.

Also note :

"Probably WONT win, ....got a DECENT chance".......my whole aim is to try and make some money, some easy money, and that requires making a small gamble, no point betting of short odds, I'll like get only 50p extra on every £ bet.......thats useless.

Its all for a laugh, and if I did bet its best to take a gamble with a semi decent potential return.

Weren't you the same guy who said Pakistan would loose to South Africa 0-5.
Where were your predictions when Pakistan comprehensively defeated South Africa in the 2nd one dayer.
Granted that Pakistan played badly overall in the series but you were wrong.

About Westindies, granted that they are a good team, just because they had a close win against India doesn;t autmoatically make them the contenders. I maybe wrong or right, you never know.
Yes their batting looks very good, Gayle is looking good, and so is Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Hooper, Lara and other, their batting is very strong but their bowling is where they lack the firepower. They have some young talents like Drakes, Lawson but they are inexperienced, and they will be tested heavily in WC.
