Re: Latest Vista Screenshots

Looks good, I'll try when the final release comes out. Lets see whats better in Vista.

Linux has gui, its far more stable it has almost all the applications that one needs to run in his daily routine (excluding games) but what its lacking is .... installing anything new with double click. Though if we see its free as copy right laws are getting strict everyday its much safer to use linux and not get tempted by some pirate CDs available for 30 or 40 rupees in Pakistan.

So I still advise people, stick with windows if u are a normal user who is using computer for daily use, it makes life easier. But if we want to promote Linux then we have to work a little bit harder to teach people how to use it and implement it on us instead of just saying its a nice OS.

I am using XP because my laptop came with it, most of the new PCs come with preinstalled Windows so users are not given a choise of OS instead Windows is forced on them to use. Marketing stretagy.

Mac on the other hand is another very stable OS but in the past it was expensive and not easy & not every software was able to run on Mac so it wasn't so popular. But people who started using computers with Mac are still stuck with Mac and dont even think about windows.

Re: Latest Vista Screenshots

am still waiting for some good guy to PM me a download link to the beta release.... :(

Re: Latest Vista Screenshots

Ubuntu has made a well enough case for linux desktops. I think this distro is gonna get some action. If the cracked version of Vista gives the users pain in downloading security updates n other good stuff, there might be many who would turn to Linux, especially the semi geek crowd, who always thought linux was geeky, but never bothered to use it as a primary OS.

Re: Latest Vista Screenshots

I was anxiously waiting for the Ubuntu Linux 6.04 (latest built) set to be released on April 20. But we might have to wait for 6 more weeks
