Is there any limit on how late you can read isha, or can you do it until fajr time?

As far as I think it can be done until right before fajar. I know that some people that wake up for Tahajjad usually pray farz and sunnat of isha but pray witr right before tahajjad.
Okay over the summer, when I would stay up all night long, I would pray isha and like 15-20 minutes later, fajr. But then someone told me that’s wrong, that ur supposd to read isha then sleep, then read fajr, so i dunno. 
far as i know u can say it all night long, but its perferrable to do your farz before 12.
sarah yu are talking about tahajud, you cannot say tahhujud without sleeping, but you can say fajr.

nope I was praying isha. my niyya was to pray isha so i did.
You can pray Isha till the time of Tahajjad. Time of tahajjad starts around some 1~1.5 hours before Sub'h-e Sadiq And sub'h-e-Sadiq is when The time for Fajar starts...
Subh-e-Sadiq is the exact time when you stop eating Sahri, in Ramazan
It is complicated. The duration can vary so It is better to say your isha prayer latest by around mid night.
It is pre-requisite to sleep after Isha, if you want to pray Tahajjad, as according to sunnah
If your Hanafi then its 12am..
maddy I was waiting for your troubled conscience.Ive always been told its best to pray on time and before the middle of the night.That would be before 1am.And if you delay salah on purpose, I dont think its right, if you have a valid excuse for being late, then ofcourse it might be different.

AFAIK, Isha and witr are two separate things. Those who regularly pray tahajjud, usually pray witr with it. So, we can't take witr's time for isha. I think CodeRed may be right.

when the night reach its half...there is a hadith i'll try to look it up in english
a night is divided into three parts - and last third is the one recommended for praying tahujjud. As for isha - it should be prayed the last third of the night. Please not that the timings change with the duration of the day along with the different weathers.

Three of the most commonly held views are given by Ibn Rushd in Bidaya al Mujtahid (pp.105 of its translation, The Distinguished Jurist's Primer)... that Isha ends...
At the first third of the night (a view attributed to Abu Hanifa, al Shafi'i, and one report from Malik)
Midnight (also attributed to Malik)
The 3rd seems to be the most well known and probably most adhered-to opinion. I remember reading some of the evidence for the 2nd view at one time. As for the 1st view, it more likely refers to the time at which it is most preferable to pray Isha and not necessarily an indicator of when the prayer time ends (to an extent, the same reasoning could be put forward against the 2nd view also).
To the best of my recollection, the Isha prayer is the only (or at least one of the very few) prayer that the Prophet (saw) recommended be delayed to later into the night.
As-Sayyid Sabiq writes in Fiqh us Sunnah (1.86)...
"This [Isha] prayer begins when the red twilight disappears and continues up to half of the night.... [he then cites some hadith and concludes with]... The hadith describes the best time to pray. As for the allowable time and the time due to need, it lasts until dawn."
