The Pakistanis have decided to give Shoaib and Asif until March 6 to be available for the World Cup but in case the players are ruled out of the contest, fast Mohammad Sami and all-rounder Yasir Arafat are expected to replace them.

On verbal reports from the doctors, Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif require more time to become fit. Hence, the National Selection Committee in consultation with the Team Management has decided that Mohammad Sami and Yasir Arafat would replace Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Asif for the ICC World Cup 2007

Yes "the News" report from Jang is stale by 1 day. The latest is that the reports are infact back and they are definitely out.
