I remember when I was buying curtains , the lady in Pakistan told me that hanging frill on top of the curtain , is an outdated fashion :( .. for me it was pretty new still coz I have never had proper curtains in any of my places ... but it made sense that if something is getting out of fashion why buy it still .. So I bought one frill wala but the rest of them all were straight curtains ...
Similary just this morning I saw in a home decoration programme , that many modern decorations include coloring the skirting in the room in a particularly bright or contrast color ... like even if the walls are full while , the skirting around the room can be painted sky blue ... it was looking awkward initially but when i thought about it , it did add that liveliness to the room ... I think its a new and an upcoming trend ...

Chevron stripes are huge in home decor.

Bebo , thanks for sharing ... so , these stripes , are they in as wall paper design , rugs or upholstery?
Asking , coz I have never liked those stripes , but when i see them in pictures they look good :( may be I just dont know their use .. coz even a little looks alot with them ..

They are featured in absolutely everything. I have seen people paint their entryway in chevron stripe to give a dramatic appeal.
My fav way to use them is on 4x6 rugs. Any bigger and it looks too busy for my taste.
Another hit in home decor now a days is Moroccan prints in textile. Like wool/cotton dhurri rugs and seating poufs.
