Late Joiners on GS - What eventually forced you to contribute?

I hear a lot of guppies say how they had been silent observers over some time before finally deciding to join or contribute to the forums.

I’m just wondering what it was that got you to that decision to start interacting and contributing? Obviously, there would be some initial attraction to the forums since you were silently observing the interactions.

sometimes when a hot topic is discussed u wanna add ur 2 cents too. eventually u start participating.

^^

Exactly. I was reading a topic and then I thought God I would need to add my two cents here..

Re: Late Joiners on GS - What eventually forced you to contribute?

LC I really want to know that too, I think most of such late-contributers are ladies and they are in Life1. Plz consider asking this question in life1.

My 2 cents :)

Im shy! plus there are a lot of people here who are friends with each other, makes you feel a bit left out!

and yeah also the 2 cents thing, sometimes you really wanna express and contribute your own opinion to something.

annnd very randomly ive decided that i must reach 1000 posts lol.

Re: Late Joiners on GS - What eventually forced you to contribute?

I know when I 1st joined I was a silent reader, until I thought I had a question & wanted to post to seek advice. Then I became a member.

Re: Late Joiners on GS - What eventually forced you to contribute?

Thanks for the replies folks... interesting... it seems like the urge to share your opinions and comments on a specific issue is a prominent driver for starting to contribute ; while feeling marginalized from a pre-existing social circle is a barrier that keeps people from joining/posting early.

Any other reasons?
