Lata Mangeshkar is MTV’s - Artist of the Millennium
Popularly known as The Nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar features on MTV India throughout December promising viewers all-time great classic and contemporary music and exclusive interviews.
Lata Mangeshkar who has been recently nominated to the Rajya Sabha, has won over 1,400 awards including the Dadasaheb Phalke and and Padma Vibhushan. Till date, she has sung over 35,000 songs in 34 different languages in a career spanning 55 odd years. Time Magazine called her ‘the undisputed melody queen of India… a pint-sized bundle of musical genius… a singer with moonlight in her throat… a legend in her lifetime’.
