I booked a cruise through lastminute once. It worked out well since I got a corporate discount.

used lastminute.com to find out budget hotels for north wales trip..worked out very well...
we had to organise a north wales trip over a long weekend on a very short notice...all the other sites were showing booked and then we tried lastminute - they said they will confirm in 24 hours and they came back to me with a good deal...
