Last Minute

Invites. Why do desis do this?

Have you ever known a desi family to send out invites on time ??

Re: Last Minute

Always late

Re: Last Minute

depends what kinda desis you deal with. most people i know do it the right way...send invites well in advance and ask them to RSVP before a certain date.

Re: Last Minute

I once received an invite 2 days before a wedding

Re: Last Minute

probably invited you as an after thought ? :(

Re: Last Minute

Yes. I know many families that send invites several weeks in advance. Yes, Desi.

Re: Last Minute

Yes we usually get invites well in advance with rsvp request. Once someone had a genuine reason for sending the invite late (they came late from paki) but the family told us and invited us way in advance over the phone. A friend invited me to her wedding 2 days before....I thought that was rude and simply didnt go. I guess pekple cancelld and she was oooking to fill spots

Re: Last Minute

For events that require formal invites (ie. weddings), I usually received the actual physical invitation about a month before. However, with family and close friends....they verbally share the date/location of the event MONTHS before (as soon as the venue is booked usually) just so we keep that date free.

If I were to received an invite a week or 2 before the event....I'd assume that others cancelled and the hosts just wanted to fill the seats. Not an event that I'd choose to attend.
