(thought came from Dude111 thread from Cafe) … but this is related to a very serious topic, Last meal offered to the prisoner (on a death row) on his last day.
I know its a good human gesture but would I be really worry about my last meal and what to order, let alone eat it and enjoy it, if I have only few more hours to live.
Could you imagine your mindset if you are in that unfortunate situation? What would be your dominant thought process at that time?
I think other than usual fear of unknown (death that is) I would be doing Ashtaghfar and repentance for the crime I was sentenced for. Also, I am sure that I would be missing my family and thinking of what they must be going through at that time.
i agree totally. Surely if you are facing death you would be too nervous, sick and scared to even be able to eat? it sort of seems cruel to give a death row victim a meal of their fave foods, like rubbing it in.
It is scary even to think of that, Unless someone has done such horrific crimes and so remorseful that he/she is kind of finding peace in that ending, I dont know how else a normal person would handle that.
***Off topic but why do the sterilize Lethal injections
As far as Last Meal is concerned , I think most Death Row Detainees probably have an altogether different mindset from the common man , after having committed the heinous crimes that they have been sentenced for , they probably know how to detach themselves from the present or even their surroundings !
I would think food would be the last thing on the soon-to-be-dying person's mind. I think Saddam before they were going to send him to the gallows, he was either offered water/coffee and cigarette or cigar.
