Last episode of The Sopranos

I thought it really really sucked!! This was such a great series with all sorts of wonderful plots, twists, and turns and yet it ended with a fizzle.

What do you think?

Re: Last episode of The Sopranos

It was a great episode. Had chase overdone it with violence i.e kill everyone, it would have sucked. Now you can actually go back to season one and see everything from the begining and enjoy it in whole different sense. The Sopranos was mainly a story about family who were involved in crime. People like many sides of it, some violence, other family problems and drama. To kill everyone takes the bite away from the series. I think they ended on a high note with Phill's head being crused under a SUV.

I think he did not want to repeat Scarface or God father, which is why the ending. You can pick a lot of from it;

Person who went inside rest room came back and killed everyone.

Tony went to trial and than jail.

Witness programme. Or;

nothing happened, from start Sopranos family lived in fear. With rats inside their own circle to New York and FBI. This stress strained their relationship with each other and life in general. Now they are living pass it. Chase could have made the ending simple, Tony sitting, Carmela enters than AJ and Medow, but he made it dramatic just to leave it on a high edgy mode.

Re: Last episode of The Sopranos

I think I am a bit late to to talk about the Sopranos.

If you are a huge fan of the Sopranos then you will understand Chase's style. He is not the type of director and writer to give in to these big executives from upstairs just so they can please a bunch of viewers. Also, HBO will never be like any of the big networks.

Chase goals were to make the fans talk about the show the next morning. Mission accomplished. He literally laid everything out there in the last show. If you have a chance to watch it the second or third time you will notice that everything in that show is the arrogance, ignorance, hypocrites and irony of what America is today.

1.) AJ whining about global warming, terrorism. He drives a BMW, which he then says on his cell phone "it runs 23 miles per gallon on the highway". He took the executive role instead of going to the army. How about during the funeral service and how his cousins were talking about American Idol, he starts to passionate about what America is about.

2.) Meadows *****es about discrimination of the Italian American. yet she is a walking stereotype of what many people think of Italians. She talks about how ppl gets treated like crap in NJ yet the person she is talking to happens to whack ppl.

3.) Carmella, money talks. MONEY TALKS. No matter how much whores tony sleeps she can always look at her real estate and block everything out.

HBO time and time again will give the freedom to all writers that they need to create a magical show. They want you to be creative and NOT try to sell out.

We should all thank HBO for what they have done to television. Becaause of them the big networks had to "spice" it up a little bit. Think of all of the shows that recently went off the air, these are some really big generational tv drama shows.

Sex in the city, Six feet under, Deadwood, Sopranos to name some of the few.

HBO will let the show grow instead of letting it run for 6 weeks to see how many viewers catches on. It will keep showing the series because they know that it takes time to have some of these characters developed and give the viewers some sort of emotional attachment to these characters. Just like what Chase did with the Sopranos.
