look at the bright side folks, going in the worldcup we all knew this was an overrated bunch of spoilt brats, the golden generation was anything but golden, germany just showed that you dont need big names in a squad to be able to play.
whoever is incharge, fabio or whoever, the only takeaway from here should be that for Euro 2012 prep, you just clean house get rid of dinosaurs and get rid of overhyped players.
coming in I had said that Rooney is more hyped than anyone I have ever seen really, and he just proved my points.
show must go on, but not all these players.

And i have maintained this from the start…England are not world cup worthy…Euro, maybe…but not world cup.

X2, that's because my loyalties partially lie there too....:p..but man were they a disappointment this year! In fact, the majority of European teams have been!
Lessons learned from this match:
England team needs an overhaul. They are not working cohesively. Dock their wages!!!!!!

Germany were the deserved winners. England abysmal and Rooney just pathetic. every pass he made he gave the ball back to the Germans.

i think the only players from this squad who really should be considered for 2012 would be milner, ashley cole, and our young goalie who did not get a chance to play. possibly one of gerard or lampard, not both, and that it.
they should just take the u21 squad as a whole, and make that the national team, and use some experienced players as impact substitutes.
sadly the u21 lost to germans in u21 finals :D so there is work needed there too, but atleast it was the finals

I don't understand why these english players cannot play attacking and fluent football like the Brazilians, Argentinians, Germans and Dutch despite playing so much P'ship. That is where they need to improve a great deal
England are always relying on short corners or a good header from someone to score. While that also requires skill, it is simply not football IMO.
And the defence was just shambolic today. It could so easily have been 7 or 8 goals for Germany.

Argentina
Brazil
Germany
I know the Dutch are playing very well but these three teams are better IMO.

Rooney was pathetic.
germany's first 2 goals were good but completely due to extremely inept defending..or rather non existent defending. can not win by such lapses.
germans have shown again, speed and accuracy of passes are the basic construct of the sport and the team. england team overall is slow, aging, and technically not very astute. cant win jack with that, can hope, can wait to see moments of individual brilliance, but that individual brilliance being counted on was on rooney and was totally misplaced.

I think you are right, i would add spain to the mix if they start clicking, but right now I think spain needs to get out of their own way to make an impact
