Lassi Na Saag

I got a mad ass craving for Lassi Na (Da) Saag but Mother won’t be back till after the weekend. I’ve tried getting hold of her, but there’s a better chance of me finding Osama in Small Heath then there is of me finding my mum when she’s in Bradford

I’ve tried asking friends, family and even tried looking on the net for the recipe but no1 has a clue.

Please tell me asap. I’m an absolute nightmare to live with when my needs go unmet.

Yougurt in Spinach? Never had it.

Sadi, Saag sursaaaN da ya thipperaan daa?

Ana, it's real complicated. I know she uses lassi, saag and dahl/chawal (for the texture). as for everything else, I'm clueless :(

Fungi, I thought there was only one type. Saag is saag

sorry Sadi i have never heard of it..but once your mom cooks it..please do share the recipe..i would love to know..what it is..thanks :)

yup lassi waala saag iz not bad... my naani used to mke it im not sure if my ammi knows....
how cum ppl never heard of it...

Saag and lassi? Never heard of this combination but it sounds like it could be quite nice.

I don't believe you guys have never tried lassi na saag - u don't know what ur missing out on. Lassi na saag with Bare di roti is the best desi dish of all times.

I finally got hold of my mum this morning but she says it's too complex n i won't be able to make it myself. I guess I'll just have to wait for her to come back. She does have her uses, I guess.

Doesn't ease my craving though ....

:(

sobi r u from north pakistan , cause lassi na saag is a traditional dish made in villages in and around Hazara division.

Sobi: If u got the recipe ...please share it with us . Its a very authantic hazara dish ...not many ppl know how to make it.

is yogurt cooked with saag or are they separtely eaten?

PKC, I'll ask her for the recipe when I get home. It's pretty tough though. I tried learning while she was cooking it on Monday but gave up as soon as she started cutting the saag (i.e the beginning).

Khanbabs, nah its a dish where the saag is mixed into the lassi mixture (milk, danY and water). U then add tarkah and bits of rice n dahl (I think) into it. It's quite a thick greeny/yellow dish

You are all so thick as cream of spinach. Don't tell me you have never heard or eaten cream of spinach. It is available in the frozen section of every grocery store in the USA. Buy, Microwave, Enjoy !

Spinach = Palak not Saag

I don’t do processed food (well not the Asian variety …)
