It does work but it takes a lot of time for some women to get permanent results. And it can be quite painful for some women.
I bought the at home kit a year ago - the Tria Laser 4x and it seems to be working for me really well. It is pretty pricey but I like how you can use it at home.

It really depends on how much hair you have and how dark it is. The more hair you have, the longer it will take. There's also different settings, it goes from 1-5 with 5 being the most painful and stronger treatment. The higher setting ones tend to give you the fastest results.
The laser works best for lighter skin and very dark hair.
I think within 2 months my upper lip hair was gone and the hair on my arms and underarms was very scarce.
It says to use it every 2 weeks or so, so twice a month. I just use it on my legs now but it's gotten very thin and grows back slowly.

helo i m still undergoing sessions for hair removal i hav gotten alomost 6 or 7 for underarm and bikini area unerarm are alomst completely gone,bikini has some left.rest of body 4 session r done and hair r thnin and less grow very slowly.the face however after 3 sessions has very thin hair but after that the effect stop showing like its bn 5 sessions on face but last 2 sessions isnt showing that good result.maybe cz the hair left r thin ones now.best results so far r bikini underarms 6 sessions.and eyebrows 5 sessions.i had to stop taking eyebrows sessions cz i thot they were bcmng too thin.also most painful is on bikini area and eyebrows cz the skin of both areas is sentive.i had the lady put anasthetic cream on bikini area and pack it for 10 mins bfr the sesion.also tell the lady to use hight setting and overlap the area again and again and go back and forth with probe on same area for better result.hope my reply helps sorry for spelling mistakes was in hurry
