I am thinking of getting this procedure done on my face and would love to hear some feedback if anyone’s gotten it done. My biggest concern is that my skin is very very sensitive…so, I ll have to make sure I tell the physician know that. Do you know what to look out for when your skin is sensitive? Also, did anyone experience acne or breakouts after getting this done…on the face? Or does it decrease acne or break outs?
And just over your experience, and things I should look out for before proceeding with it.
They will educate you on what to look for in case your skin reacts while you are getting the treatments, along with that they teach you how to take care of your skin for instance wearing SPF becomes a daily routine. My sister who has a million skin allergies and uber sensitive skin Alhamdulliah had no problem. If you go to a reputable place they will know exactly how to handle your skin, or tell you if the treatment is not suitable for you. They also do spot tests, if they are a reputable place.
Mainly I would aim to go to a place that has good customer service and some sort of policy for satisfaction guarantee.
I had my first session of laser hair removal last week. One thing for sure, the procedure was very painful, esp round my upper lip area. SPF is essential, and have tried to avoid hot water. Was also told to apply aloe vera gel on the area. There was a bit of minor swelling though, but it went down after a day or two.
I had no breakouts after, and very much doubt laser would cause acne breakouts, but the skin was kind of lumpy and bumpy in some areas, but this reduced by the evening. The next day there were a few minor scabby looking things, but they've all gone by now alhamdullilah!
I’ve had it done, on my arms, underarms, etc. The only thing is that when I was pregnant, the hair came back cause I had a boy and I was full of testosterone I guess. So it kind of made it pointless for me. It’s definitely lighter though than before.
Thanks for the info guys
oh that really does suck Mehnaz. paying so much and have it come back...i guess if you get it done again..you ll need less treaments this time. did you notice any side effects?
i read somwehere that the hair on your face creates a barrier between the skin and enviromental toxins so it's necessary..any truth in that?
psb it also depends on how thick your hair is. If the hair on your face is thick and coarse then getting laser is a great option...but if its just the really fine peach fuzz..its not a big deal..bleaching usually takes care of it...
you should definitely consult a specialist first.
