Laser Hair Removal

Re: Laser Hair Removal

I'm just so nervous about long-term side-effects.

sigh

Re: Laser Hair Removal

i have a question about how you would go about looking for a good one? i mean so many have popped up over the years, and so i'm more scared of that that anything else.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

That's true. I even know of people who are married to doctors, get their licence for hair removal, and use the doctor's office as part of their own practice. I don't think I would go with one of those.

One of my friend's got it done by some auntie who is supposedly very good. She seems very happy with the results.

I thought about going through Alase. The estimated cost (including some discounts) for face was $1100. (it's about 150-250 per session, for 5 sessions; after the initial 5 sessions, all other sessions are discounted)

Re: Laser Hair Removal

The place taht i go to, (pure med spa in Chicago), i was able to secure a package deal of 8 treatments for 1500. I am supposed to not tweeze, thread, wax the area at all anymore else it will remove the hairs to be worked on from the root and the laser will have to work from scratch on the new hair. I go in for a treatment every 4-6 weeks. No less, no more. To remove the hair between treatments, the esth recommended shaving which is not bad since the hair gets lighter and sparser.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Sahar02, i'm in the same boat as you...nervous about the whole how my skin will react and the potential side effects.

what are few important q's to keep in mind when looking/searching for a place?

Re: Laser Hair Removal

http://www.hairfreeclinics.com/
The absolutely best laser for desi skin! The laser they have doesnt burn pigmented skin at all and is VERY effective treating the hair. Before getting treatment from anywhere else…definately get a free consultation from one of these clinics!

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Does anyone know good laser clinic in Houston ?

Re: Laser Hair Removal

For best efficiency of each session, you should not wax or thread hair at least month before the laser treatment, and you must shave before going to ger laser done, to avoid burning the skin.
shaving face is leading to some reaction for sensitive skin, even pimples, but not much more than waxing anyway
the results are long lasting, though as mentioned hormonal imbalance tend to weaken lasting effect.
as someone said, the best result are those on armpits! bikini line also works well.
My leg hair start growing again after few months, but much less, and also thiner, which makes shaving possible!

Re: Laser Hair Removal

can u use epilator on the face? like for the upper lip...my friends told me not to

Re: Laser Hair Removal

^^why don't you use tweazer?

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Park, I've used it before. Just be careful and gentle with your skin. Try it and see how your skin reacts. Make sure to clean skin before and after, and keep it moisturized.

Parisse, thanks for the advice.

Re: Laser Hair Removal

does anyone know any good clinics in Toronto area? Thanks! :)

Re: Laser Hair Removal

PARK1983

r u talkin about that machine that plug hair like tweezer for legs,, cuz i use that and i use that machine only on my face this way i dont have to tweez each hair with machine it tweezez away all my hair at once, ive been using it past 6 years and works for me... and it only takes 2 min...

Re: Laser Hair Removal

oh ok..i m fed up of tweezing too..u have to pluck every single hair, so i got an epilator but the 'ouch' factor is multiplied in the case of epilator :(

Re: Laser Hair Removal

Park > u'll get use to it :)
