Laser Hair Removal - What to know

Re: Laser Hair Removal - What to know

Out of curiosity, when was your last treatment and how many did you have in total?

Yup, there is no IPL or LASER that can remove fine or lighter coloured hair. The way these methods work is by using the melanin in the hair, and in finer or lighter hairs, there is just not enough pigment.

If you want the remaining hair gone permanently, the only option is electrolysis. But depending on your location this may not be possible. Add to this that it takes a far more skilled electrologist with good vision equipment to remove the finer hair, and it’s even less likely.

Paheli has talked about facial hair removal cream some threads and she does this herself. Providing your skin can tolerate it, it is an option. Always do test patches etc. The action is similar to shaving; you are just breaking off the part of the hair above the surface of the skin. But shaving cuts the hair to have a blunt tip, so as it continues to grow, the end will feel sharper. Since hair removal cream, chemically destroys the hair, the breakage is less sharp.

If you can’t use hair removal cream, you could trim them instead of shaving. If the hairs are fine and fluffy, a blunt end because they have been cut shouldn’t be noticeable anyway. I would bleach them to make them blonde and then trim with a facial hair trimmer. Again, try it out somewhere less noticeable and see how you like it before moving on to a larger area.
