Laser Hair Removal - Warning

:salam: ladies,

I just heard of a girl who went for laser hair removal here in Pakistan and her face got completely burnt, after which she had to go through corrective cosmetic surgery, it was a really traumatic experience for her. shudders Allah Paak bachayay :frowning:

I’ve seen a lot of you discussing laser hair removal on this board so I just felt like opening this thread and letting you know that there are many risks involved in it so please really think about it before you go for it, coz its so hyped these days that every other female is going for it.

Every cosmetic procedure comes with it's risks these days. That's why it's so important to do your research before commiting to anything and choose a reputable fully qualified practioner.

I'm surprised that the girl ended up so badly burnt though, you'd think she would've made the them stop the laser when it started burning so badly?

Anyway let's hope she makes a full recovery.

can she sue them for this in pak?

awwwwww poor girl irem give her a  frm me … :frowning:

Not sure how it works in pak but I know most places here make you sign all kinds of legal disclaimers before starting treatment.

oh God!
she should do smthng against the clinic.

i don't understand why u guys are backing her? it was her choice right? she paid the price. it wasn't necessary or a life-saving op. It was luxury, so her own responsibility

^ Right. She wasn't forced to get it done. Accidents happen. Reminds of something that happened yesterday:

I went to mall to buy some shoes and met my friend there. She owns a cart in mall and sells purses and sunglasses. I was talking to her when a ticked off woman came and demended a refund for a pair of glasses that her daughter had bought a few mintues ago. The sign on her cart clearly stated No refunds and No exchanges. Her argument was that her daughter (Looking at the women, I am guess her daughter was 18+) was innocent and you (my friend) forced her to buy the glasses. It was MY money and you forced her to spend it on the glasses. You held her hand and pulled her and told her they were pretty glasses and she had to buy those. My friend refused to give the refund and told her to go speak to the manager because the lady was threatening that she would go speak to the manager and file a complaint.

In my opinion, this was pretty dumb of that lady. The cart was there, the glasses were there. No one forced her daughter, it was her daughter's own decision. Even if the salesperson forced her to buy the glasses, she had the right to leave the place and go. But the lady was blaming her daughter's act on the saleslady. Just like that, the woman who got the surgery done, I am sure she knew of the consequences if the surgery went wrong. It's not like the doctors did this on purpose because I am sure they don't want to run out of business. The lady should not be allowed to sue. If she does sue, I don't know how it works, but in USA, I am pretty sure she would win because people sue for ANY STUPID THING and WIN!

If you get burnt with lasers they only leave tiny marks, and they usually disappear within a couple of days. When you get burnt you know it and can tell the doc to stop. I think the gun is only 2 cm long and .5 wide so the damage is limited.

This sounds a bit too much. You can't really sue them as they note down exact condition of your skin etc and you sign the doc.

People tend to exaggerate, I'm sure it wasn't as bad as they make it sound. :)

Sandleen, I just burned my face while lighting a cigarette, come here

guys this is IREM

5Abi - pak and suing…u know this combo does not go  idhar jis kee lathi hoti hae us kee bhens hoti hae

Well I don't think its the girls fault. Sabah is right that the marks takes few days to go and then they fade off but heck, there is no such system where you can sue anybody in Pakistan. Its about time we start that.
This example isnt related to this issue but my father went for eye surgery but due to heavy doze of anesthesia, his kidneys failed.I was talking about precisely this issue with my mother few days back about the whole sueing business

'I heard' is the key word here. Buss sunee sunaaee ki baatain baghair kisi tehqeeq kay phailaana achi baat nahee. Pakistan is full of these rumors. These people just want to discourage others from trying modern methods.

No offence to irem, I think she meant good by opening this thread but we as individuals shouldn't believe in everything that is 'heard'.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH :dixsi:

Yeh wali reply choti thee na? :halo:
