Re: LASAGNA.....?

the way i make it at home:

Ingredients:

1lb keema
1 can of spagetti sauce
1 box of oven ready lasagna - this one requires no boiling, so it's easier to use
1 container of ricotta cheese
1 egg
1 package of mozarrella cheese - you know those long bars?

Directions:

  1. Cook meat in medium heat, adding in salt and pepper to taste. No need to add in any oil, otherwise the dish will get real oily at the end.

  2. While the meat is cooking, shred the mozzarella cheese and put to a side. Empty out ricotta cheese container into bowl, add in egg, a few tablespoons of milk, and using mixer, mix all of 'em together, so that it's almost like pancake mix.

  3. Once the meat has been fully cooked, add in the sauce with the meat. Set the oven to 350 degrees Cel.

  4. In a large pan or Corningware dish (something that you can put in the oven), layer the items in the following order.
Lasagna - usually takes about four or five strips to cover the bottom portion of the entire dish
    Meat Sauce
    Ricotta Cheese mixture
    Shredded up mozzarella cheese

Once these four layers are done, start again until you reach the top of the dish.

  1. Cook in the oven for about 30 mins, and ta-da! Your lasagna is done.

Enjoy!

Re: LASAGNA.....?

MARRIED:

most lasagna recipes that i have come across use ricotta cheese as oppose to cottage cheese (which u listed)....is there a specific reason you use cottage cheese instead of the ricotta?

also....for 1 pound of ground beef.....1 32 oz jar of sauce doesnt seem like it would be enough (i could be wrong)....does your lasagna turn out saucy or a bit dry?
