How much kapra is required for a LARGE FLAIR anarkali and/or a LARGE FLAIR gharara/lehnga like shown in the pictures?
I have been ordering dresses online and have had good and bad experiences but 1 thing that i have found common in all home based designers is that whenever i have asked for a LARGE FLAIR/GHAIR dresses, they never turn out to be as large or flairy like in the pics. Its obvious that more kapra is required but even after that is it something to do with the stitching or some other problem that the flairs are never as large as in the pictures? What exactly is the problem in making these large flair clothes? I thought i mite ask some GS designers here…
No answer yet. Seems like this issue can never be resolved and i guess only original designer wear which is mad expensive can actually give the proper flair in clothes.
i think it will take 13-14 gaz fabric for lehenga only. its a kalian style lehenga as u could see easily in pics, pieces stitched together in both designs.
It can be done if you specify how much flair you require. If you are specific about it, anyone will do it for you, but if you just give a picture, nobody knows the exact measurement, so they just give you what is the norm. Kwim?? Next time you order, give the flair in inches :)
Thanks for replying kingme123 and Crystal Bracelets. So how do i measure the flair, like does it aso depend on your waist measurement in inches? Like for example if i take an ideal, 36-24-36, for a large flair like in the pictures how much cloth will be required?
drsara are u telling size i.e
chest = 36
waist = 24
hip = 36 ???
i have told that 13-14 gaz of fabric will be more then enough for lehenga like that in the pic.
u could buy 13 gaz fabric, ask tailor to make that lehenga and if some cloth is left behind u could use it somewhere else.
No that's not how you measure the flare. You measure the total spread of the dress. like from one end of the hem to the other, or all round. Got it? I know you don't have the dress with you and can't give an accurate measure, but to me the first dress looks like it has a flare of a hundred inches atleast.
It is almost 6 yards flair all around. You can tell your tailor to make 9 panels in the front and 9 on the back, each panel with 14 inches width on the bottom. The fabric required depends more on your anarkali's length. For a 48-50 inches top, the fabric required will be almost 12 yards. Hope that helps. :)
For a large ghair long shirt, a minimum of 4 yards is required, for larger flare it should be 6yards . The ones seen in the pic above are a bit OTT, but I am guessing 8 yards minimum for these. I use 6 yards or so and the flare is good.
Thanks everyone for replying I was at a wedding and the sisters of the bride were wearing these really large flare lehngas. Obviously they were not walking around like the models in the above pics, since then i have fallen in love with large flare clothes, be it anarkalis or lehnga, it just looks so graceful and avant- garde like. So thought i mite ask how much cloth is required to make these. Some more pics in normal poses
