There were bad news for the West Indies team here this afternoon. Star batsman Brian Lara, admitted to hospital yesterday after scoring a hundred against Kenya, is indeed suffering from hepatitis.
Lara, who underwent tests last night following fears that he was suffering from the disease, spent the entire night in the hospital. This afternoon, the West Indies manage Ricky Skeritt was informed the tests have been positive.
Lara would be out of action for seven weeks and is most likely to miss the West Indies’ tour to India. The West Indies team management at the moment is hoping Lara would be able to join the squad for the later part of the series.
