Toshi vs IBM
Which one would you recommend and what are the Pros and Cons of both?

Rock solid. Made in Japan.
2 harddrives. 17 inch display. You drive you car over it and it wont break.
Its like Mike Tyson of laptops.
Little over priced but no match in market!!!

Agree with K_A that Fujitsus are real good. Pops had a Lifebook Q2010 in his arsenal. Problem is they're not for everyone. Servicing them can also be a hassle in NA.

We should have a sticky "which laptop to buy?' thread. Every few days (some times multiple times a day), we have someone asking the same question. I suspect, most don't even need to buy a laptop. They just ask this question, because they have a writer's block in other forums. :D

its softwares are expensive

Dell is perfect for me. Depends on what really matters to u. Dell has a really great service - worldwide!
What u want from a laptop? Just for the office? For gaming and multimedia? 13", 15", 17"?
I got an Dell XPS 1530 and its good for gaming, has a nice 15' Monitor and is rly fast.
I would recommend Dell, doesnt matter for what u want a laptop, they got the one u need ; )
