i would like to purchase a laptop and as i don’t have the foggiest of which would be the best to buy, plz advise me (preferably existing laptop users) of which make is better or tell me of all the technical info’ which i must know b/f buying the thing… et cetera thx
My brother bought a laptop from dell last year for over 3K with all the accessories, its worth about half that now. sigh He sold it and is getting the IBM Thinkpad now. Said its much better and only about 4 pounds in weight. Great for a student like him. He's into all these electronic gizmo's and what not and always likes to have the best of whats out there so I trust him in his electronics decisions. Just thought I'd share. Don't take his word for it though, best to shop around. smile
My newest laptop is the Sony Vaio Z1 with the centrino processor. These new processors's battery usage is very low, hence i can use the laptop for over 5.5 hrs. Plus it doesn't generate as much heat either. So I would suggest Centrino/Mobility processor.

Atleast a 14" screen
Go as light as possible, every single oz counts
Built in NIC, modem and Wifi
Ofcourse it all depends on your budget.
