So I was typing something when suddenly my backspace key fell off…there was no pressure or anything, it just fell off.
I tried for a bit to just put it back on but it wouldn’t stay back on…Googled some solutions and found this website:
except I tried it and 15 minutes later, tis still not coming back on
Edit: ok so its kind of fixed…the white thing was attached to the back, as per instructiosn I took it off and placed it on the keyboard..then put the key on it…so it kind of works now but its still loose
What do you want us to do? It sort of depends upon the keyboard style (you have the sony/apple style and 2 other chiclet type keyboards) and TLK gave you a right directions even if you have the sony / mac style keyboard (keys don’t touch each other). I still don’t get why your key would just fall off??? If it is because you have broken the mechanism, then time to get a new key on ebay; I had a similar problem where I actually had popped the key but couldn’t put it back like my space bar. I ended up replacing the whole keyboard for the hp, so the money for the new key was a complete waste as it wouldn’t work with my keyboard.
Does anyone know why my laptop won’t switch on? It was working fine about an hour ago, I closed it for lunch and later on, it won’t switch on. Im ver careful with it, never dropped it, never had anything spilled on it and Im worried now cos all my stuff is on there and I gotta print off a lot of homework for the kids. Please help!!
Try removing the battery and re-fitting it and then turn on the machine. If it still doesn’t turn on, remove the battery and try turning it on without the battery to see if the battery is causing the problem.
