if i have 2 youtube videos buffering in IE, winamp 5 running, and 2 Msn Messenger windows minimized using multi msn, then my XP crashes without notification. and this is despite having a Intel Core 2 Duo processor.
notice how i have 5 tabs above in my IE and how much memory IE is eating. and please dont recommend firefox 3 cuz it was eating memory BY THE SECOND despite Mozilla’s tall claims.
help.

u need some memory setting and alocate them as ur requirement

Increasing virtual memory will only increase the paging and your system will still be slow due to too much of hard disk usage. Try putting in more RAM and don't run the processes that you don't really need.

the problem with IE7 is that even if you close a tab, but the memory allocated for it is not RELEASED... So if you open 10 tabs and then close 5,,,, the memory allocation will remain for 10... Thus it keeps on eating memory... the idea is to open two three tabs per IE window and when you are done with a tab, close the whole window. ( i know its pathetic and idiotic)
